SUPER IGHALO WINS CHINESE FA CUP

Odion Ighalo’s Shanghai Shenhua emerged triumphant against Shandon Luneng in the final of the Chinese Fa cup. Goals by Kim shin-wook, Stephan El Sharawwy and Alexander N’doumbou secured the victory.

Shanghai came into the game with the aim of overturning the one goal deficit. Graziano Pelle’s first leg penalty in the first leg wasn’t enough. An aggregate score of 3-1 was how it ended.

This landmark wrapped up a superb sporting year for the Nigerian marksman. The CAF player of the year nominee has scored ten goals in seventeen Chinese Super League games, emerged as the AFCON 2019 top scorer, AFCON qualifiers top scorer and AFCON 2019 bronze medalist.

The former Watford striker has been exceptional for both and country this year. He would be hoping to become the first Nigerian in over a decade to win the CAF player of the year award.

A physical and hungry attacker of his calibre can achieve more milestones in the nearest future. It’s noteworthy that he retired from international football after AFCON 2019.
