With the international friendly between the Super Eagles and the Pharaohs of Egypt fast approaching and the dead-rubber match day 6 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying Group B fixture against Seychelles billed for the Keshi Stadium in Asaba Delta State, Super Eagles goalkeeping coach, Alloy Agu has revealed that Nigeria will not take things easy with Seychelles despite booking an AFCON qualifying ticket in November 2018.
Nigeria booked the qualification ticket after playing a 1 – 1 draw against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg in November 2018 and will play Seychelles in a dead rubber game on the 22nd of March in Asaba before facing the Pharoah’s four days later on the 26th of March.
The former Nigerian international revealed to Sports247.ng that the Eagles will not take the game for granted as it will also serve as opportunities for the players to meet, gel and understand the coach’s philosophy ahead of the AFCON tournament billed for the summer of 2019 in a venue yet to be decided.
Agu also revealed that despite qualifying for the AFCON, Nigerians deserve nothing less than good football and ultimately a healthy win for the team in Group B’s final game.
With Nigeria already through to the AFCON finals, South Africa will need to beat or on a minimum get a draw against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya to ensure that they will be a part of Africa’s biggest football showpiece later in the summer.
