“Before we resumed I had like two phone conversations with him concerning the list, concerning some players. He asked about the criteria of the home-based players I told him that he really appreciated it. He’s a top professional and we enjoy working with him.”He continued.
On the first loss in the dugout together against Mexico, Salisu said they put heads together to ensure a better performance in the second half.
“The first game was really tough in both the first and second half. Everybody analyzed the game with him and he agreed to all our suggestions and we made changes to the system we played. And you can see we were more in the game in the second half because we controlled the game more. It’s team-building, step by step and I believe we will have a good team.”
He reiterated his happiness for the home-based players who got thee chances against Mexico stating that this will be a morale booster for NPFL players.
“We are really happy because the home-based team had a chance to play, it’s good for the first time in the main team. It will go a long way to make them more confident, and more self-belief in themselves.
“And also it will make the other home-based players that are not here to work hard because they know they have a chance if they are doing well in the league.” He concluded.
