Super Eagles and Leicester City’s attacker Kelechi Iheanacho has told the Sierra Leone National team that the Super Eagles are in an angry mood and will show no mercy in today’s reverse fixture of the AFCON qualifiers.
Nigeria were held to a frustrating 4-4 draw on Friday by Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, despite taking a 4-1 lead at halftime.
It was a draw that felt like a loss not only on the part of the team alone but also on the part of Millions of Nigerians as well.
The former Manchester City attacker Kelechi Iheanacho was spotted in a video while speaking with one of the Sierra Leone players telling him that the Super Eagles are not in a good mood after Friday’s frustrating encounter and that he and his teammates will show no mercy to them (The Sierra Leones) when both sides meet on Tuesday (Today).
According to Iheanacho, while speaking to a Sierra Leone player, he said, “You guys (The Sierra Leone side) tried a lot in Nigeria but we are not going to show u guys mercy here in Freetown. We are angry at the moment and brought that anger to Freetown, so expect no mercy from us (The Super Eagles)”.
A win in Freetown against Sierra Leone will see the Super Eagles earn the AFCON ticket to Cameroon in 2021.
