Nigerian defender William Troost-Ekong has been nominated for Watford’s player of the month award for December, Sports247 reports.
The 27-year-old faces competition from club captain Troy Deeney and Spanish right-back Kiko Femenía who won the award for November.
Troost-Ekong was assured in the five consecutive appearances he made in December, before suffering a hamstring injury that saw him missed Watford’s last game of the year against Norwich.
Deeney on the other hand scored in three successive games while Watford went unbeaten in the five games Femenía featured in December.
The vote for the Player of the Month is open until 3 pm on Thursday, December 31.
