The African Cup Of Nations 2022 draws were held days ago and the Super Eagles of Nigeria found themselves in Group D which also has Egypt, Sudan, and Guinea-Bissau and it has drawn optimistic reactions from Nigerians all around.
Technical Director of Dannaz FC, Akande Fatai expects the Super Eagles to qualify but warns against complacency in an interview with Sports247.
“It’s a decent draw. We’ve got enough decent quality in our Super Eagles in the key department to go through the group,” he said.
“Egypt looks like the only big one in our group but this day you can never tell so it’s better to take the games one at a time with enough seriousness and a clear-cut approach, towards each game. Most of our players in Europe start the new season well hopefully they can keep their form and replicate it when they come to the SE, We should go through,” he added.
The AFCON is billed to take place between 9 January and 6 February 2022 across five cities in Cameroon with the Super Eagles set to play in Garoua.
