Former Regianna of Italy midfielder, Prince Ikpe Ekong has charged players in the Super Eagles to imbibe more passion into their performances with the Nigerian national team.
Ekong said in an interview with sports247.ng that he has not seen enough passion to enable the present set of players show enough fighting spirit that would bring satisfaction to their fans.
Ekong, who was part of Nigeria’s bronze medal winning squad at AFCON 2004 in Tunisia, added that hunger to don the green-and-white has changed from what it used to be during his days in the Eagles.
Ekong pointed out: “We played football with passion to give satisfaction to the fans during our days.
“Years back, we gave everything for the country, we fought hard and gave our very best all the time.
“Nowadays, players are no longer judged based on their passion for the game, or talents, which is the bane of Nigerian football in recent time.”
