Former Nigeria international, Joseph Dosu has reacted to the 0-1 Super Eagles loss to lowly rated Guinea Bissau this evening in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
The visiting team scored in the first half as Super Eagles failed to impress their fans throughout the encounter which was held at the Abuja national stadium.
The 1996 Olympic football gold medalist told sports 247.ng that the defeat was a wake up call and believed that the three time Africa champions would still qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations sheduled for Ivory Coast next year.
“Although the fans are not happy with the result but the defeat was a wake up call and I still believe that Nigeria would qualify from the group.
“We are currently second position on the table and only the two countries would qualify from our group so we should not be worried as football fans rather we should assess the teams and and advise the coach as he is preparating for the reverse fixtures,” he said.
Meanwhile Nigeria would face Guinea Bissau on Monday in the reverse fixtures.
