Super Eagles’ Coaches Will Conjure Winning Tactics To Stop Lybia In October – NFF’s Secretary

The Super Eagles’ technical crew has received a vote of confidence in their quest for a ticket to next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Sports247.ng reports that the passmark has come from no less a person than Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) secretary-general, Mohammed Sanusi.

Though he did not confirm whether Augustine Eguavoen would receive an extension to continue as interim coach of the side, Sanusi affirmed that anyone in charge would get full support from the NFF.

He began by slamming critics who were not satisfied with the Eagles’ goalless draw away to Rwanda on Tuesday, as he labelled it an act of God.

Sanusi went philosophical as he declared, “The match ended in a draw that was destined by God. For those who were opportune to watch the match, we know that our team played very well.

“We were just unfortunate. We could have scored four goals. That’s why I said the result was a destiny from God.

“We have put it at the back of our minds, and now we are looking ahead of the other matches.”

The NFF scribe added that the Eagles will not take any opponent with levity in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, in which they already have four points from their first two matches.

“I must say, ‘there is no team that is an underdog.’ If you watch what is happening in this competition, you will know there is no team that is an underdog.

“As a Nigerian, what I wanted was a win in Rwanda. But, since a win couldn’t come, we should just take what God has given us and let’s forge ahead.”

He then charged the coaches to come out with a winning formula for the next round of matches in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.

“What we came here to do was to get a win, but I am not the coach.
“It’s the coaches that will sit down, go back to the drawing board, and see what they can get for the next match.

“Our own is to make sure we provide the enabling environment for the coaches to do what they are supposed to do.

“By the grace of God, we’ll continue to do that. We have been doing that in the areas of accommodation, good transport and other logistics.

“We’ve been doing that, and we’ll continue to do that. I know the coaches will definitely work on any area in which the team needs to do well,” Sanusi affirmed.
