Among those present were goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Amos Obasogie, the latter newly signed by Fasil Ketema FC. Noticeably absent was Maduka Okoye, who has yet to report for duty.
The defensive lineup was bolstered by William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, Olisa Ndah, and Bruno Onyemaechi, who all took part in the training. Benjamin Tanimu, who was called up to replace the injured Bright Osayi-Samuel, also participated.
In midfield, the Super Eagles were well represented with Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika, Alhassan Yusuf, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Wilfred Ndidi all in attendance. Their presence added depth and versatility to the squad, showcasing the team’s tactical options ahead of the upcoming fixtures.
The forwards were equally formidable, with Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Victor Boniface all putting in the work during the session.
Their collective energy and sharpness were clear indicators of the attacking threat the Super Eagles will pose.
However, the team’s star striker, Victor Osimhen, has yet to join the camp. Osimhen, who is reportedly finalizing a loan move to Galatasaray, is expected to link up with his teammates before the encounter against Benin.
Despite his absence, the mood in camp remained positive, with a strong sense of camaraderie and determination evident among the players.
The coaching staff, led by Jose Peseiro, emphasized discipline and teamwork throughout the session, offering guidance and feedback as the players worked through various drills. The intensity of the training is expected to ramp up as the match against Gernot Rohr’s Benin draws closer.
As the Super Eagles continue their preparations, the team’s focus remains on delivering a strong performance, with the next training session expected to be even more rigorous as they fine-tune their strategies.
