Sunshine Stars head coach, Edith Agoye says the planned sale of the club will not affect the team’s target for the season. Sunshine Stars FC will take on Rangers in a matchday 13 encounter on Sunday.
The news of the purported sale of the Owena Waves was revealed last weekend by the Ondo State Government.
Speaking on a radio program monitored by The Guardian in Akure, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Bamidele Ologunloluwa, said the move became imperative for the effective and proper administration of the two clubs.
“People need to understand that if the right company takes over Sunshine Stars, there will be more jobs, instead of job losses. It has to be in the memorandum of understanding; the investors must have their offices in the three senatorial districts; they must have their ministry in the districts to harvest legs,” he stated.
Agoye said his team’s target of making it to the playoffs remains intact.
“The planned sale of the club won’t affect our target for the season,” the gaffer told DAILY POST, Our plans of qualifying for the playoff are still there nothing is changing that,” he assured.
