Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure has solidified its coaching lineup for the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with significant changes and extensions.

Head Coach Kennedy Boboye has renewed his contract with the club, ensuring his continued leadership. The board of the Ondo State Football Agency has also made key appointments to bolster the coaching staff.
Bobola Akinfolarin, previously the Technical Director of Sunshine Queens and a pioneer player for Sunshine Stars, has been appointed as the new First Assistant Coach.
Gbenga Okunnua steps into the role of Second Assistant Coach. John Gardi and Kayode Emmanuel retain their positions as Goalkeeper Trainer and Physical Trainer, respectively.
Hon. Bamidele Ologunloluwa, the Executive Chairman of the Board, confirmed that these appointments take immediate effect. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, urging the new coaching staff to work collaboratively to enhance the team’s performance.
Ologunloluwa stated, “We are confident that this new coaching team will bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to Sunshine Stars. Their combined experience and dedication are vital for the team’s success in the forthcoming season.”
Femi Atolagbe, the club’s Media Officer, expressed optimism about the new structure. “With the continuity of Coach Boboye and the addition of Akinfolarin and Okunnua, Sunshine Stars is poised for a promising season. We look forward to seeing how the new coaching dynamics will positively impact our performance on the pitch.”
