The coach of Sunshine Stars, Emmanuel Deutsch has declared that he is not satisfied with the performance of his team in the 2-1 in Akure.
Chigozie Chilekwu opened the scoring for the Akure Gunners in the third minute before the team’s highest goal scorer, Ugochukwu Leonard made it two just before halftime in a perfect first 45 minutes.
However, the second half went in a different direction as Nasarawa United rallied to get something from the game but their efforts were only crowned by Chinedu Ohanachom’s goal in the 73rd minute.
Giving his post-match thought, Emmanuel Deutsch said the boys relaxed in the second half.
“I can’t be happy, the season is not over. The boys started well, got the goals but relaxed in the second half. The win is for Ondo state, the people but not me.”
The win was Sunshine Stars’ third win in ten games and has seen them back in contention for a continental slot as they are just 6 points away from the third spot with 6 matches to be played.
The Akure Gunners remain at home on the next match day as they welcome Niger Tornadoes.
