No one becomes successful overnight without planning, no World Cup-winning team is just selected a day before the tournament neither do they start planning months to the event and as such, Nigeria’s Minister of Sport, Mr. Sunday Dare hinted at the federal government’s plan for football at the recently concluded NFF Extraordinary Congress held in Benin, Edo State.
In his speech at the congress, the minister said “The FG Committee on 10-year football master plan will soon be announced.”
“If you can genuinely put the country at heart in your Congress, we will continue to get it right as far as football is concerned. I wish you great deliberations,” he added.
The minister further showed his support and belief in the current NFF administration’s ability to continue to uplift the nation’s football while being at the frontier of the nation’s football at all levels.
“The NFF remains the lead organization in football development and it must retool for the work ahead. I am sure this NFF leadership can do it if they want to do it,” he concluded.
