A week after the 0-4 bashing in the hands of Mexico in the friendly game that has now been described as a mismatch by critics, Super Eagles striker Sunday Adetunji still relishes the opportunity to play against the Mexicans.
According to the Rivers United attacker, it was a big opportunity for the players to play a top game and before a mammoth crowd. He conceded that many players in the team that tackled Mexico in the match were obviously jittery and thus, couldn’t get their acts together, because of the large and vociferous crowd.
Adetunji who was a 66th-minute substitute in the game commended Amaju Pinnick led the NFF board and the technical department for organising the match.
” I am particularly happy and grateful to the NFF President Amaju Pinnick for giving us the opportunity to showcase our talents and also get exposed to such a big stage.
” We are true, grateful and certainly look forward to more of such top-class international matches. Which I believe would help us improve greatly, ” the former Plateau United star quipped.
