Sunday Adeleye Reveals Plan To Boost Nigeria’s Economy Through Sport Tourism

Following the conclusion of the Zaria Athletics Grand Prix held at the Ahmadu Bello stadium Mr Sunday Adeleye has revealed that they are looking at boosting Nigeria’s economy with sport tourism.

The meet director allayed that more of such competition will be looked into for more sponsors and partnership to support the nigeria economy through sport tourism.

Adeleye posited, “we want to tell the world it is not as bad as they say we are from here, come next week, there will be an athletics event in kaduna.”

“We also still have the garden City international grand pix, which will be coming up soon whereby there we will have the license to organize it properly.”

“It is the mother of all grand Prix in Nigeria, because to qualify to be among contestant, you must be among the first ten in the world,” he explained.

Reminiscing about the Zaria Athletics Grand Prix, the director admitted that it was electrifying with great performance by some of the athlete as it as prepared them upcoming competitions.”

Upcoming athletes like Hajara Haruna, Ayenuro Taiye in 100 metres women, Oshiokpu grace and Fejiro in women triple jump, sustainance of performance by Oche Emmanuel in 100metres, ogazi Samuel in 200 metres and salisu Ibrahim in 5000m, who got a good challenge from Williams Sunday gave a good outing.

“The Zairia Athletics Grand Prix, Ahmadu bello Zaria is home for the competition and it will continue to be a yearly thing where home athlete and more international athletes will be converging.”
