The Great Ife Student Union recently conducted its general election, with Sumbade Jnr emerging as the sole contender for the Director of Sports position after other aspirants withdrew at the last hour.
Sumbade, a student from the Faculty of Education in the department of Kinesiology Health Education and Recreation, is widely recognized on the Obafemi Awolowo University campus for his activism and sporting prowess.
In a recent interview with Sports247.NG, Sumbade expressed his long-standing ambition for the role, which he had nurtured since his admission into Obafemi Awolowo University.
He highlighted his significant contributions to the world of sports within the university, further emphasizing his qualifications for the position. Sumbade also extended his gratitude to the Great Ife Students for their unwavering support, acknowledging that their overwhelming endorsement was instrumental in his victory.

Sumbade Jnr will assume the responsibilities of the Director of Sports, succeeding the current officeholder, Oluwanooni.
