As different bodies and sectors due to the Coronavirus crisis checks in on behalf of thier members in distributing palliatives, relief funds as a form of support, the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF) has now joined in offering support to it’s student athletes across the globe as part of the annual Children’s Day celebration package.
The athletes drawn from the 36 states of the federation including FCT, Abuja were presented with food items on behalf of NSSF by the state coordinators in their various homes with over 37 athletes who have distinguished themselves in various sporting programmes organised by NSSF benefited from this largesse.
President of NSSF, Olabisi Joseph allayed that the gesture was to offer supports to the athletes, “We at NSSF celebrate our future leaders on this day set aside to honour them. And for them not to feel the brunt of not marking the day in large gathering with their colleagues, NSSF has decided to go to their various homes to deliver these gifts to them,”
She however enjoined the athletes not to give up at such a seemingly difficult time as this imploring them to keep training, making sure they keep fit so as to be ready when sporting activities finally resumes.
