Nigerian striker Philip Otele has confirmed his desire to earn a call-up into the national Olympic team.
Otele, 20, is currently on the books of Kauno Zalgiris in the Lithuanian A Lyga.
He has been developing through the Zalgiris set up since joining them.
The striker wants to play under coach Imama Amapakabo at the national Under-23 side.
“I’m really looking forward for a chance to play for the Olympic Eagles and so I’m hoping the coach calls me and I will be ready for the national call,” Philip Otele said.
“I’ve always look for the opportunity to play for my country so I think this is the best chance for me to make impact. I’m working hard enough.
“My coaches always tell me I have the potential to reach the very top and I definitely want to be in the Nigerian U23 side because of the qualities I can bring to the already talented side.”
Phillip Otele has scored 18 goals for his U23 club side.
