FC Zurich of Switzerland youngster, Stephen Odey is counting his list of blessings, following his eighth goal of the ongoing season in the Swiss Super League, sports247.ng reports.
dey said he was excited to hit target again for the capital city club, but the former Mountain of Fire & Miracles (MFM) FC of Lagos star admitted he was somewhat sad it came in a 3-2 loss away to Saint Gallen.
Odey, who also got an assist when set up his team’s first goal with a pass to Benjamin Kololli, said he would have preferred netting on a night his side got back to winning ways in the Swiss top-flight.
Indeed, his assist initially helped Zurich take the scores to 2-1 before the half hour mark, but Odey could only get on the score sheet with virtually the last kick of the game.
Consequently, it ended up as a consolation as St. Gallen were already 3-1 and his goal also came few minutes after he was booked.
Odey has now scored eight goals in 16 games in all competitions so far this season, with four in the league and three in the Swiss Cup, but the youngster syas he is yearning for more.
“I am happy to score again, but sad we lost. Hope to do better and score more later. Thanks to the fans and teammates,” Odey posted.
