Stallion NMN, the official representative of Nissan in Nigeria, proudly hosted the Nigeria leg of the International Cricket Council (ICC)’s World Cup trophy tour in collaboration with the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF).

The iconic ICC World Cup trophy was on display for cricket enthusiasts and fans to admire during a series of events held across Nigeria.
The tour commenced with a public exhibition of the prestigious trophy at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, attended by esteemed guests, including Senator John Eno, the Minister of Sports Development, and Uyi Akpata, the President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation.
Notable representatives from the ICC and diplomats from Pakistan and India also graced the occasion.
The following day, the tour continued its journey to the TBS Cricket Ground in Lagos, offering thousands of fans the rare opportunity to see the coveted trophy up close, a moment many will cherish as their first encounter with this symbol of cricket excellence.
The tour’s grand finale was marked by a VIP cocktail function at the Nissan Showroom on Victoria Island, Lagos, on August 30.

The event brought together dignitaries such as Mahesh Vaswani, Managing Director of the Stallion Group, diplomats from South Africa and India, and officials from the ICC and the NCF.
Amit Sharma, General Manager of Stallion NMN, emphasized Nissan’s longstanding commitment to international sports sponsorship, particularly in cricket for the past eight years.
Nissan has proudly supported sporting excellence worldwide, with notable brand ambassadors including tennis sensation Naomi Osaka and cricket stars like Mitchell Johnson, Mel Jones, Dale Steyn, and Kagiso Rabada.
Sharma highlighted Nissan’s dedication to innovation, citing their investment in Formula E as an example of pushing boundaries for the benefit of customers.
He noted that innovations from motorsports, such as E-Force and E-Power, have made their way into Nissan’s production vehicles like the Qashqai and X-Trail models.
Expressing Nissan’s commitment to Africa and Nigeria, Sharma mentioned their pioneering role in signing a memorandum of agreement with the Federal Government in 2013, aimed at aiding Nigeria in establishing a sustainable automotive industry.
He underscored Nigeria’s importance in Nissan’s strategy, given its status as one of Africa’s top two economies.
In closing, Sharma looked forward to the day when the Nigerian cricket team would compete on the global stage at the ICC Cricket World Cup, showcasing the growth of cricket in the nation.
