As the first round of the SSI Premiership came to a halt yesterday, all matches played lived to expectations as teams slugged themselves out to end the first stanza on a good note before embarking on a two weeks break that will allow teams to reshuffle and reinforce as the transfer window opens from the 23rd of June,2021.
The first two matches between the first four teams on the log all ended in a barren draw.
In the first match of the day, second-placed Derby FA lost the opportunity to close the gap on league leaders, Jazzy Stars FA, as they were held to a goalless draw by third-placed Ajester FA, throwing away a penalty after Ajester FA defender brought down James Eronye in the 18yard box. But the captain of the side, Musa Dino lost the kick from the spot.
In the second match played yesterday, El-Spuron FA made sure they brought to a halt the winning spree of Jazzy Stars FA as they held them to a goalless draw.
In the third match played, J. Cadets FA return to winning ways as they defeated Clapai Stars FA 4-1.
Moses John got a brace for J.Cadets in the 25th and 57th minute, while Junior Chuwang and Muhammed Abdulsalam put the icing on the cake in the 36th and 72nd minutes respectively.
Nestrac FA kept their newfound form intact as they out-muscled a resilient Red Arrows FA 2-1.
Michael Gonyol Seri put Nestrac FA ahead in the 10th minute, Red Arrows FA equalized in the 18th minute via their captain, Aminu Adams, while Idris Umar made it safe for Nestrac as he got the winning goal in the 30th minute.
Highland Stars FA were 3-0 better than Super Stars FA.
Teams embark on a two weeks break when the transfer window will be thrown open from the 23rd of June, 2021.
