SportsDay Editor Thanks God For Son’s 5th Birthday

The editor of SportsDay newspaper, Sam O’Femi Olusetire was in an excited array with his family last weekend, as they lined out to give thanksgiving in church over the fifth birthday of their son, David.

Sports247.ng was on hand to witness the epoch-making occasion at Divine Counsel Parish of Redeemed Christian Church of God, at Oko Filling area of Ikotun, Lagos, as Olusetire (formerly Femi Fasetire of Brila FM) was joined in celebration by the clergy and congregation.

Leading prayers for the celebrant, his parents and sibling, Divine Counsel area pastor in charge, Mrs Abosede Adetomi said it was a thing of great joy that God has continued to protect the family Brother Olusetire, who is also a functioning minister in the parish.

Pastor Adetomi prayed that God will continue giving the Olusetires cause to celebrate, and used the celebration of their son as a point of contact to other families desiring such days of joy and for fellow children in the church to equally discover divine touches of happiness.

Olusetire said after the day’s activities, which coincided with the RCCG monthly thanksgiving Sunday and end of the church’s annual fasting period for 2019, that he was happier in how his son had been blessed prophetically even before his birth.

He recounted: “It is interesting to note that this boy was named by a prophet at Overcomers Church in Owerri way back in January 2012, which was two years before he was born on March 2, 2014.
“Incidentally, the pastor in Owerri, who was introduced to us by a Swaziland-based players’ agent, Victor McDonald, told us the boy would be born in February 2014, and we planned towards it.
“However, to God be the glory, the delivery was delayed by two days, in order for another divine impartation to take place, as the boy then arrived on the same birthday with our daddy in the Lord, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the general overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God.
“In fact, we would have named him Enoch, had it not been that we already had a prophetic name given him ahead of time; but sharing the same birthday with Daddy G.O. is a thing of immense joy for us and our son, David. We thanks God for making it possible in his own divine way.”
