Nigeria’s first exclusive dedicated grassroots sports media platform, sports247.ng has become one of the media partners for season seven of Penalty King contest in FESTAC Town, Lagos.
This year’s edition of the spot-kicks-only competition, which is billed for Sunday, May 29th, will start 12 noon at Stone Field, 41 Road, H Close, FESTAC Town and hold in accordance with strict FIFA regulated standards.
Furthermore, this upcoming seventh edition of the project, which is the brainchild of Exquisite Models International, is dedicated to the memory of late Emeka Anthony Okpor (aka Daddy Mekkus).
More information gathered by Sports247 revealed that the contest, for which entry is free of charge to all willing competitors, will involve contestants trying to score into small empty posts without goalkeepers in between them.
At the end of it all, cash awards and choice gifts will be available to the last contestant that did not miss any kick in each of the four categories available.
The biggest prize of N50,000 will go to the senior boys’ Penalty King, while 20,000 is for The Last Woman Standing, as well as 15,000 each plus gifts for the last kid male and last kid female.
Side attractions will be provided by DJs, models, Nollywood actors, broadcasters, sports stars and dancers.
The official logo of Sports247 has already been highlighted in the contest’s promotional flyer, ahead of what promises to be a productive relationship among all parties involved on this novel aspect of sports entertainment.
