Sports Is Another Religion On Its Own, Grassroots Football Can Boost Nigeria GDP – Emeka Godson

Chairman Depros FC, Ehirim Emeka Godson has said that after Christianity, Sports is another religion on its own.

This is in relation to the 5-Day Video Scouting Champions Cup which is set to commence from the 10th of December to the 13th of December.

A tournament is a scouting event, which holds twice every year, with the aim of looking for young and potential talents in Nigeria to expose them to Football (Sports) and send them to European clubs. The Tournament is also aimed at promoting Grassroot football in Nigeria as well.

CEO of the Ogementus Concept Limited and one of the main Organizers of the event, Ehirim Emeka Godson in an interview with Sports247 spoke before the commencement of the event, admitting that Sports is now a way of life for most countries and that most countries now invest in Sports as well as Grassroot Sports so as to help boost the standard of their economy, saying that after Christianity, Sports has become another religion on its own.

“If you check all the countries in the world that are doing well currently, in terms of their GDP, you will see that they went more investing in Football because Sports is a way of Life”.

I will tell you that after Christianity, I think Sports has become another religion of its own that has taken the world and everybody who really wants to grow in every aspect of Life you are into, as a country, as a group of people, companies, I think its high time people begin to think to invest in Sports, moreover Grassroot because that is where it is right now. We have seen it and we have found out that is just the way forward, so if we the people of Nigeria will come together in our own little way, in every other thing, we will get it right in this country, I know that for sure”, he said.

The event kicks off tomorrow (10th December) and will run through till Sunday (13th December).
