The event will feature Nigerian football greats such as Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba, Garba Lawal, Ahmed Musa, Samson Siasia, Victor Agali, and Rabiu Ali. Organized to honor the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, the match highlights his enduring commitment to the growth and transformation of sports in Nigeria.
Event coordinator, Mr. Chidi Okonkwo, emphasized the significance of the match, stating:

The Shehu Dikko Novelty Match (SDNM) also aims to raise awareness about the ongoing renaissance in Nigerian sports, spearheaded by the National Sports Commission.
Dignitaries expected to attend include the NSC Chairman himself, Shehu Dikko, NSC Director General Honourable Bukola Olopade, and Jude Anyadufu, former Sporting Director of Enyimba International.
