Securing his first victory at the helm on Sunday with a 4-2 triumph over former team Abia Warriors at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, Biffo displayed resolve amid pressure.
The win, coming in his second game in charge after a loss against Katsina United, marked a positive turn for the Lagos-based club, currently placed 11th in the table with 41 points from 32 games.
Appointed earlier this month following the departure of former coach Paul Offor due to poor results, Biffo emphasized the team’s control over their fate, despite being just four points from safety.
“The task is not that too difficult because if you look at the log, their destiny is still in their hands,” Biffo stated, highlighting the importance of winning home matches to secure survival. He emphasized the need to focus on the present while planning for the future.
Sporting Lagos faces challenging fixtures in the remaining six games of the 2023/24 season. These include clashes against league leaders Enugu Rangers at home, fellow strugglers Bayelsa United away, and formidable opponents like Rivers United, Plateau United, Enyimba, and 3SC.
With determination and strategic planning, Biffo aims to guide Sporting Lagos through the trials of the season, instilling confidence in the team’s ability to overcome adversity and secure their place in the league for the upcoming campaign.
