Heading into this weekend’s encounter in the northern city of Katsina, Durugbor has been reminded that his side is yet to win a single away match this season, but the former 1472 FC of Lagos hit man says there is no cause for alarm.
Indeed, heading into Sunday’s game on the road, Sporting Lagos hold a mid-table spot of 11th on the NPFL log, while Katsina United are better placed in seventh position.
Katsina, who have a game in hand, won three straight matches from their last five, but lost the immediate past one, while Sporting Lagos beat Sunshine Stars of Akure 1-0 on Tuesday to improve to 38 points from 35 matches.
After scoring the lone goal that sank Sunshine Stars, Durugbor was named man of the match, which boosted his buoyant mood and the youngster, who previously netted versus Remo Stars of Ikenne and Kwara United of Ilorin, is hoping to make hay against Katsina as well.
He, however, admitted that he and his teammates will have to be in the right mental frame to overcome their away blues and return home with maximum points from this weekend’s trip up north.
“It’s all about mentality. Everybody has his way of thinking.
“We also consider the stress, the travelling, and everything involved in football matches.
“But, we are working on that, and, by God’s grace, we’ll get it right,” Durugbor predicted.
