According to several reports, Southampton has stolen a match against Fulham, Nottingham Forest in the race of acquiring Nigeria international midfielder, Joe Aribo services ahead of the 2022-2023 season.
The saints led by Ralph Hassenhuttl who has made three signings this season are hoping to add the versatile work horse in thier team.
With Aribo having just a year left of that deal Southampton would hope to negotiate a slightly lower initial fee, though Rangers are thought to want the total value of any deal to reach the clause figure.
Aribo is a man in demand after an excellent season in which he was one of Rangers’ most used players, making 57 appearances, scoring nine times – including in the Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt – and set up 10 more.
Aribo who joined Scottish giant, Rangers from Charlton will join a host of other Nigerian players in the English Premier League with the likes of Ndidi, Iheanacho, Tosin Adarabioyo already accustomed to it’s demand if he seals the move.
