The Nigerian Football Federation South South Zone on the 21st January, 2020 passed a Vote of No Confidence on Emmanuel Ibah it’s zonal coordinator.
The decision came during a meeting held by the Chairmens of the Football Association in the South South Zone at Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In a meeting held by the Chairmen’s of the NFF South South Zone, they stated that NFF Chairman Amaju Pinnick, Chairman of Chairmen Mr Ibrahim Gusau and the South South zonal coordinator Mr Emmanuel Ibah relying on Article 8 section 2 of FIFA Statutes to form a Normalisation committee to manage the affairs of Delta State Football Association is ?misplaced? as the Article 8 Section 2 of FIFA Statutes have not been adopted by the Nigerian Football Federation yet.
Emmanuel Ibah alongside top NFF officials constituted a Normalisation committee for Delta State Football Association with the sole purpose of appointing Tony Okowa the Executive Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission as the Chairman of the Delta State Football Association without due consultation from the association of South South States FA chairmen with Emmanuel Ibah taking sides with top NFF officials as his sole purpose at NFF is to protect the interest of the South South Zone in the glass house.
Due to Emmanuel Ibah?s actions the association of NFF State Chairmen (South South zone) have passed a vote of no confidence on him citing that he doesn?t have the interest of the zone at heart but rather serves at the pleasure of other top NFF officials.
Here’s what you need to know about FIFA Statutes 2019 Section 8 Article 2, it states as follows; ?Executive bodies of member associations may under exceptional circumstances be removed from office by the Council in consultation with the relevant confederation and replaced by a normalisation committee for a specific period of time?.
The Nigerian Football Federation South South Zone has maintained that there?s no crisis in Delta State Football Association hence no use for a Normalisation committee.
