The South-South Derby will soak up the headlines in Day 4 of the 2020 Governor Wike Pre Season Tournament, as Rivers United face neighbours Akwa United and managers Stanley Eguma and Kennedy Boboye renew their rivalry. Monday’s big derby will be all about the two managers, as they both chase three points at Sharks Stadium.
Rivers United lost their first game 1-0 to Lobi Stars, as for Akwa United they have picked up four points from a possible six.
The game certainly is going to be a blast of excitement with goals galore.
Udala FC take on Abia Warriors, keen on causing an upset after shocking Goddosky 2-1.
The Folabi Ojekunle tutored lads are in Port Harcourt for business and they showed it despite playing with 10 men against Goddosky.
For Abia Warriors, they drew 1-1 with Bayelsa United with most fringe players featuring, and coach Imama Amapakabo is expected to ring changes for the tricky battle with giant-killing Udala.
Godwin Obaje should lead the line, while Mustapha Jibreel and Paul Samson should provide support from the flanks.
Expect a typical Imama’s kind of performance with Hamed Yaqub, Markson Ojobo, and Ibukun Harrison starting. Fatai Abdullahi should provide us with some crunching tackles which will be vital against Udala who keep possession for larger parts of the game.
The dangerous Ottasolo side have a tough fixture against wounded Cynosure FC.
Ottasolo have some experienced players like Eric Gwammy, Ebenezer Odeyemi, and Olawale Jimoh in their ranks. They should complement the young lads in the team.
Striker Daberechi Anyanwu will lead the line for Cynosure who lost 3-1 to Akwa United in their opening game.
Former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Bayelsa United will be aiming for maximum points in their third match against Goddosky.
