The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that two countries have so far submitted an official bid for the competition.
South Africa and Egypt has made the first move by submitting their bids to replace Cameroon as the host of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
It would be recalled that the African football governing body stripped Cameroon off the hosting right due to slow progress in infrastructures and security challenge.
CAF has confirmed one of the two Africa’s giants will be hosting the tournament from 15 June – 13 July 2019 CAF confirmed the bid of the two Nations with the statement released officially on its website.
Starting that CAF has received a Formal applications from the Egyptian and South African football associations to host the AFCON 2019
At the CAF Extraordinary Executive Committee Meeting that will take place in Dakar, Senegal on 9th January 2019 to agree on the new AFCON 2019 Host Nation.
An announcement of the outcome will be made by CAF after that meeting.
