Ekos Akpokabayen, a Nigerian South Africa-based businessman and sports philanthropist, has commended the Amaju Pinnick-led Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board for consistency in developing football in the country.
“The good work has been reflected in favourable FIFA rankings,” he said.
He also commended Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta and other governors for their consistency in supporting the Super Eagles and football development in the country.
On Super Eagles, Akpokabayen called for teamwork to achieve good results.
“I want to commend the players and officials of the Super Eagles for good results achieved so far in major tournaments. But, I want to emphasise that it is important for them to ensure teamwork in all outings.
“When we have that kind of culture, it gives a sense of belonging to all members of the team, from the supporters club, physiotherapist, players, coaches and other officials,” he said.
Akpokabayen said that the little efforts by members of the team made a difference and should be recognised as one way of motivation.
