” I have read several comments regarding the appointment of Coach Sekou Eric Chelle as Super Eagles head coach. Honestly I kindly urge us and everyone to calm down. Please I don’t want us, Nigerians to sound like we are an Afro Scepticism or Afrophobia people.”

” This coach may likely do well, so let’s not undermine him because he is from Mail”, Odidika told Sports247.

He spoke further on the qualities and ability of Sekou Chelle which makes him a fit for the Super Eagles and asked Nigerians to support him and wish him well as the technical committee had made their choice.

” He is not a bad Coach considering his performance at the AFCON though he lost out to the host, Ivory Coast, so if the NFF and the committee decided that he is the right person to the job.”

” Let us wish him well and give him the support to succeed. please he is our Africa brother and I strongly believe he will use this opportunity very well to announce himself”, Odidika noted.

Coach Emmanuel Odidika is presently the Head Coach of Napoli Sports Academy in Johannesburg South Africa.

Sekou Eric Chelle has been trending for over twenty hours since the Nigeria Football Federation announced the Malian as the coach of the Super Eagles as Nigerians were sharply divided over the appointment, with the majority disagreeing with the NFF over the choice of the Malians.

This is the first an African coach will be in charge of the Super Eagles aside Nigerians who have coached the team in the past.

Though Nigerian coaches like Stephen Keshi of blessed memory, Christian Chukwu, Emmanuel Amuneke have coached other national teams on the continent.
