Team Sokoto swoop all the finals to emerge winners of the National Under 12/15 Handball Championship on home soil.
In the finals decided at Gingiya Memorial Sports in the presence of the Governor of Sokoto state Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Team Sokoto won all but one of the final in all the categories.
In the under 12 Boys category, Sokoto couldn’t hold on to their lead as they lost to Kaduna 24-23. FCT came third after defeating Kano 24-8
Sokoto made up for it in the Under 12 Girls category by coming top of the log, thereby winning the category. Gboko dream girls and Plateau came second and third respectively in the category.
In the Under 15 Girls Category, Sokoto stood firm in the face of an onslaught from Abia to win 19-14 to win the category. Kaduna came third after defeating FCT 21-17.
Sokoto then showed their superiority to win the under 15 Boys Category after an emphatic 34-14 victory over Kebbi. Adamawa defeated Kaduna 28-24 to take the third position in the category.
