Sokoto United have bolstered their squad with the signing of Philimon Bitrus and David Igoche, as they look to push for promotion in the upcoming Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The duo joins from non-league clubs, with Bitrus arriving from Greenberet FC and Igoche from Zema FC. Both players have penned two-year contracts with the Northern Nigeria-based club.
The signings were officially announced on Sokoto United’s social media platforms, where the club expressed excitement about the new additions.
“We welcome both players to the Sokoto United FC family and look forward to their valuable contributions to the team’s success!” the club posted on X.
Sokoto United narrowly missed out on promotion to the Nigerian top-flight last season, finishing fourth in the Northern group playoff.
The addition of Bitrus and Igoche is part of the club’s strategy to strengthen the squad and improve their chances of achieving promotion this time around.
Both players bring fresh talent and potential to Sokoto United, and fans will be eager to see how they integrate into the team as they embark on another campaign in the NNL.
The club is hopeful that these signings will play a crucial role in their quest for top-flight football next season.
