Smart City Thrills Lagos Fans In Draw Against Kwara United

Smart city FC of Lagos, on Friday at the Agege stadium played out an exciting 1-1 draws against NPFL side, Kwara united in a friendly game that was so palatable for the spectators who watched the game.

The match which was highly entertaining and a great spectacle for the fans lived up to its hype going into the epic encounter.

Both teams played out each other from start to finish, but both teams refused to get beaten.

Kwara united took the lead in the 36th minute, but the goal didn’t drop the moral of the city players, as they piled pressure on their opponents and got the equaliser in the 43rd minute, through Toheeb Sukanmi, a fine move from the right side, captain Afeez Bankole, made a fine run from his right full-back position and sent in a delicious cross, which Sukanmi controlled graciously with his chest, dribbled an onrushing defender, before unleashing a powerful shot into the roof of the Kwara net to send the city fans into heavy jubilations, and the first ended 1-1.

The second half also produced some great display of talents, which was truly appreciated by the fans, the city put in all they got to get the winner, all efforts was to no avail, as the second half did not produce any goals, as both teams went home with a well-deserved draw.

Speaking after the game, city chairman Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, told pressmen, that he is very happy and proud of his players, for putting up such a remarkable performance.

“I want to say, I am very well impressed with my boys, they showed a lot of class and character. They have shown to the world that they are the best academy in this land, I give them kudos, and I want to assure everyone, that we will continue to put in our best to make Smart city a global brand”, he concluded.

Smart city has played three friendly games recently, winning two and drawing one.
