City who went with two teams for the games, saw the first set of players, clashing with 3SC in the first game,while the other team battled Remo later in the evening.
The first game against 3SC, which was keenly contested, saw both teams going at each other with genuine interest to win the game, but either teams refused to bulge, as the game ended in a deserved goalless draw.
Meanwhile city’s other team, took on Remo stars, in the second game, later in the evening, which also lived up to expectations, as four goals were scored in that game, which were evenly shared by both teams, as the game ended 2-2 after full time.
City, came from behind twice to force a draw in that game, as, Alade Balogun and Savio Idezi, made sure city went home with something.
Speaking after the game, city coach, Abiodun Obafemi, said he is very elated with the reactions of his players, after the shock fa cup defeat to real Sapphire.
He further said, that, the games against the NPFL sides, has further prepared his team for NNL kickoff, which is just few days away.
“I wanted reactions from my boys, after that unfortunate game against Real Sapphire in the fa cup, and my boys didn’t disappoint, they played very well in both games. The players we paraded for both games gave a very good account of themselves, and I am graciously happy with the outcome of the games” he said.
He added that, “Without, any iota of doubts, the bunch of players I have in my team, are heavenly gifted and I am very pleased to have such group of players, all we are doing now, is to prepare them mentally and physically for the big task ahead and I am confident, we will deliver the goods at the end of the day” he concluded.
