Smart City Football Club of Lagos, on Wednesday, continued their quest to retain the WGB Lagos fa cup, with a resounding 3-0 victory over stubborn Atlantic business FC at the Alade football pitch.
A goal from, central defender, Habeeb Olaitan and 2 goals from the red hot striker, Fatai Ibrahim was enough for the city to progress into the quarter-final stages of this year’s edition.
Speaking after the game, Fatai, said, the game was tough, but, all glory goes to Almighty God for making it possible for the city to get the victory.
“It was a very difficult game, because our opponents, were really hard to crack, we were patient with our game and we kept to our system and instructions and we thank God it paid off at the end of the day”
“Our president, the entire coaching crew and management, has left no stone unturned to make sure the team is well prepared, and I thank you for the victory, and by the grace of God, we will continue to make them happy” he concluded.
Meanwhile, central defender, Habeeb, who missed a penalty, before scoring the opener, said God is with them and that, the only thing in their minds is to win the fa cup trophy.
“All we want to do is to repay our amiable chairman and the entire management of Smart City, with another fa cup trophy, because they deserve nothing less than that for everything they have done for this team”
“We know we still have some tough games ahead, but, by the special grace of God, we will celebrate with the title,” he said.
Smart City will continue their quest for another fa cup title when they file out again this weekend.
