City faced an uphill battle in the latter stages of the second half after captain and defensive linchpin, Tunde Adejokun, received a controversial second yellow card, reducing the team to ten men with just ten minutes left to play. Despite the setback, the team displayed resilience and fought valiantly to secure a crucial away point.

Segun Oyebode, named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance, expressed gratitude for the outcome and praised the team’s determination.

“We thank Almighty God for this result and the clean sheet. It’s a double reward for our hard work and grit, and all glory goes to God for being with us,” Oyebode stated.

He also extended appreciation to the club president for his unwavering support. “This result is dedicated to him and the entire City family, who deserve all the joy and happiness from our positive start to the season.”

With seven points from three games and two matches in hand, Smart City FC remains well-positioned in the NNL standings as they continue their campaign
