The action-packed day kicked off with defending champions Smart City displaying resilience as they staged a remarkable comeback to secure a 2-2 draw against Mavlon FC.
Despite Mavlon taking an early lead with a brilliant finish from Emmanuel Stephen, Smart City fought back strongly. Ibrahim Fuad proved to be their hero, netting twice to salvage a crucial point for his side.
In a closely contested encounter, 36 Lion and Dino SC battled to a goalless draw. Despite both teams creating several scoring opportunities, neither could find the breakthrough, resulting in a stalemate.
The drama continued as The Charlesann clashed with Ikorodu City in a thrilling encounter that ended in a 2-2 draw.
Adebayo Joshua opened the scoring for The Charlesann, but Ikorodu City responded swiftly with Sesan Emmanuel finding the net.
Egeonu Collins restored The Charlesann’s lead, but their momentum was halted when Ayinla Olayinka received a red card.
Despite being down to 10 men, The Charlesann fought bravely, only to be denied victory by a late equalizer from Onyeme Emmanuel.
The final group match saw Broad City emerge victorious with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Imperial FC. Bakare Ayomide struck twice for Broad City, while Abisuga Samuel scored for Imperial FC.
With these results, Smart City topped Group A, while 36 Lion claimed the top spot in Group B, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown in the Jagaban Cup 2024.
