Sixteen Academies Set To Compete For Glory In The U-15 Seamoriow League Championship

The much-anticipated third edition of the U-15 Seamoriow League Championship is set to kick off on August 27 in Lagos, bringing together sixteen academies to vie for the coveted title and a prize pool of N1.5 million.

The competition, organized to spotlight young football talents, will run for two weeks at the Seamoriow Sports Stadium in Alimosho.

Oluwaseyi Amos, the cup donor and chairman of the organizing committee, emphasized the importance of adhering strictly to the competition’s rules and regulations.

This year, the organizers have increased the total prize money to further motivate the young athletes. The winning team will receive N800,000 and a giant trophy, while the runners-up and third-place finishers will take home N500,000 and N250,000 respectively. The MVP will be awarded N200,000, Best Coach N200,000, Golden Boot N150,000 and Top Scorer N150,000.

Amos expressed his commitment to improving the competition’s organization and the overall experience for the participants. He also announced plans for a coaching education program during the tournament, aimed at updating the coaches on the latest developments in the game.

The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) has endorsed the event, with Vice Chairman Dotun Coker, an LSFA representative and also the event cordinator , assuring participants of fair officiating and a well-organized tournament.

This year’s championship promises to be a thrilling showcase of emerging football talent, with the organizers confident that new stars will be discovered who could represent Alimosho in future state-level competitions.

The U-15 Seamoriow League Championship is not just about winning; it is a platform for nurturing young talent and promoting grassroots football in Nigeria.
