Former Alimosho League title holder, Samjason Football Club of Igando would return to this year’s 2021/2022 Winners Golden Bet Lagos State Challenge Cup after year’s of absence.
The last time Samjason featured in Lagos FA Cup was year 2016 and they are coming to this year’s edition to expose and bring the players to the limelight.
In a chat with our correspondent, Samjason team manager, Samuel Uchenna Eke said he is planning to play this year’s Lagos FA Cup. He said the FA Cup would give his players the platform to showcase their talents and warned other teams not to underrate his club when the hostilities begin in May ending.
“We are coming to Lagos FA cup to test our young players who have been with us for a while.They are full of energy and they are hungry for success. Playing FA Cup would further expose them and give them confidence to play in bigger stage in their football career.
“We would try as much as possible to do well. I am aware that FA Cup is not a child play so I have started early preparation so that my boys can go far in the competition,” he said.
Commenting on the team’s preparation, Eke said he had started early preparation and his team are going to engage in numbers of friendly matches ahead Lagos FA Cup.
Meanwhile the Lagos FA would start the processing of licences on 9 May and closes on 18 May before the commencement of the competition.This year’s edition is being sponsored by Winners Golden Bet.
The Lagos FA also disclosed that all clubs duly registered for 2019/2020 Lagos FA Cup that was not played due to COVID-19 pandemic are exempted from payment of registration but must be affiliated to date 2021/2022 with LSFA.
