Crotone of Italy striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) will have to make himself available for another club in the January transfer window, following shady issues that blocked his move to SK Lokeren of Belgium.
Sports247.ng gathered that ‘Simy’ is club hunting once again, after a dispute between two agents stalled his proposed move to Lokeren, who have among the list of their past star players the Nigerian duo of Samson Yebowei Siasia and Peter ‘The Rock’ Rufai.
However, ‘Smy’ will not have the privilege of reviving the Nigerian aura at Lokeren, as controversial issues have ruled him out of a deal with the relegation threatened club.
Additional reports indicate that Lokeren officials are also facing up to reality, and have decided to look at other alternatives, as the East Flanders outfit are tired of waiting for ‘Simy’ to sort out his agents’ disagreement.
It could be a major setback for the 26-year-old, who scored seven goals in the Serie A last season.
He shot into the Super Eagles’ frame and made it all the way to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, after netting against Juventus, Udinese and SS Lazio.
The former Portimonense and Gil Vicente of Portugal towering striker is now in a race against time to get another deal, as he wants to hop out of relegated Crotone in time to make Nigeria’s AFCON 2019 squad.
