Crotone of Italy striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) has declared that the Super Eagles will beat Libya home and away in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Although he was not called up for the matches in Uyo on Saturday and Sfax, Tunisia on Tuesday, ‘Simy’ said his heart is with the team and he is wishing them success all the way.
In an exclusive interview with sports247.ng, ‘Simy’ backed the Eagles to to take both games and establish a good lead in the race to Cameroon.
He added that victory home and away would to a large extent ease the Eagles’ qualification campaign for the 2019 AFCON, but urged the team to be fully focused on the mission at hand.
“I believe the team will beat Libya home and away, but we have to start with the first match in Uyo. Let’s win that one first then we will talk about the second leg.
“Whatever the case, I want the players to stay focused and to be fully committed to their target of winning both matches, notwithstanding the enormity of the task.”
