Former Super Eagles and Villarreal forward, Ikechukwu Uche has urged Samuel Chukuweze to remain at Villarreal and continue his development. Before now, Chukwueze has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Liverpool following his impressive display for the Yellow Submarine.
The 20-year-old winger has scored three goals and provided one assist in 26 league appearances for Villarreal this season. Uche, spent most of his playing time in Spain with Villarreal between 2011 and 2015, though was loaned out to Granada in his first season, he is convinced that Chukwueze has what it takes to thrive in one of the best teams in the La Liga.
“He is very good; everything is working very fast for him. He’s doing well, he’s growing,” Uche told Nigeria Info in an exclusive interview.
Having watched Chukwueze and sees prospect in him Uche added “With the games, he’s been playing it shows he can get better. Where he is, it is obvious that he would get better.
“He would do well because it is one of the best teams at the moment in the Spanish League.
“They’ve had important players and like bringing up players from the second team and make them stars.”
Chukwueze joined Villarreal CF ‘s prolific youth setup in 2017, from local side Diamond Football Academy. After being initially assigned to the club’s Juvenil A squad, he made his senior debut with the reserves on 15 April 2018, coming on as a second-half substitute for Sergio Lozano in a 1–1 Segunda División B away draw against CE Sab
