Showtime Summer Series 2025: Raptors Will Keep Winning, Because We’ll Keep Getting Better – Promise Nicholas

A wide receiver in Raptors flag football team, Promise Nicholas has predicted that his side will keep on winning all their remaining matches in this year’s Showtime Summer Series, because he is sure they will improve with each passing game.

Although he admitted that Sunday’s 6-0 victory over Ikan Sports was not quite convincing as they wanted it to be, Nicholas took pleasure in the fact that Raptors bounced back from the defeat they suffered the previous weekend.

With his side returning to winning ways during week three games this Sunday in the exciting competition, which is also known as Showtime Flag Football League (SFFL), Nicholas gave kudos to his team’s defence, but noted that they still need to improve in attack.

Nicholas told Sports247 after Sunday’s victory at Showtime Arena in Lekki area of Lagos:

“We had different plans for this game, but I will say a win is a win. Our offence was not effective enough, but the defence was locked in.

We were locked down in defence. We all know that defence wins a game; and that’s what made a difference. As far as our defence is locked in, we are good.”

Nicholas, who wears Raptors’ jersey number 19, also revealed how the elements of confidence, desire and determination spurred his team to overcome all hurdles posed by Ikan Sports, especially as they had to romp back from the setback they suffered in week two, and stressed that they wil now keep on getting better as the weeks go by.

“I knew we were going to win. I was very positive that we were going to win, because we lost our last game. We did not like how we felt after that loss. So, everybody was determined to win this game, and I am not surprised that we won it.

“Now, it’s all about us going back home, going for more practice, locking in, and making sure we’ll do better every time we are on the field. As long as we get better, we’ll keep winning,” Nicholas theorised.
