The chief executive officer of Showtime Flag Football League (SFFL), Manal Nassar has promised huge bolts of entertainment to flow in torrents along with games of this season’s competition, as they want to carry along new fans of the sport.

Nassar added in an exclusive interview with Sports247 that the SFFL organisers understand that flag football is yet to gain enough awareness in Nigeria, hence their decision to introduce many side attractions to run along with this season’s games.
She further pointed out that the strategy is already paying off, as hordes of fans turned up on day one of the new season last Sunday, thereby indicating the possibility of greater followership as the weeks go by.
The SFFL’s CEO disclosed, “It’s a full house and people are just flooding in to watch the games. That really excites me on day one. I can magine what it’s going to be like for 10 weeks.”
Nassar then spoke about the growing impact of flag football in Nigeria, and admitted that more channels of awareness are needed to educate fans on what the coed sport is really all about.
She expatiated: “It’s not that people don’t like flag football in Nigeria. It’s more of that they are not educated enough about it. They really don’t understand what it is truly about. For instance, if you heard the words flag football for the first time, you would have your hands round your waist, waiting to find out what it means.
“So, it’s about us bringing a show, entertainment and the vibes, as well as showing off the sport for all to see. We want to have it as a whole entertainment package so that, even if you don’t know what the game is about, you can just have a great time here.”
The flag football buff concluded with an emphatic declaration that Nigerians will learn more about the sport and get to enjoy it better once they continue turning up to watch this season’s SFFL matches every weekend at Showtime Arena in Lekki area of Lagos.
“We encourage you to just come here, follow the action and learn from it. It’s a whole show, with many attractions and moments of excitement to enjoy once you get here. That’s what we are doing here, and we plan to do more with the entertainment aspect mostly for this season,” Nassar promised conclusively.
