According to the NSC’s official X handle, the meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange ideas on key issues affecting the sector, particularly the enhancement of the National Institute for Sports (NIS) to fulfill its foundational mandate—a subject of keen interest to Ekeji, who once served as a lecturer at the institution.

Dikko also shared the vision of the Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigeria’s Sports Economy (RHINSE) with Dr. Ekeji, who expressed confidence in the leadership of Dikko and NSC Director-General Hon. Bukola Olopade.

Ekeji commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the strategic decision to reinstate the National Sports Commission and appoint seasoned professionals to spearhead the much-needed reforms in Nigeria’s sports industry
