Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) executives have rubbished claims of a potential China trip in a bid to finish the season due to the Coronavirus outbreak as they enjoined fans to debunk such news.
Shehu Dikko spat his disgruntles over such rumours as he revealed, “why would I suggest that we will conclude the season in China with all the logistics nightmare and attendant cost this would entail”, this is an absurd statement”.
The LMC Chairman said the decision reached the meeting with Club Owners still stands and “we will continue to liaise with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the Sports Ministry and relevant government agencies working on the COVID-19 pandemic for advise on when it is safe for football to return”, he affirmed.
Bundesliga in Germany is in line for a return on May 16th so as the Spanish Laliga league with an unconfirmed date as players resumes for training with the most hit country in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, UK has already begun talks to end the league(EPL) by playing in neutral ground and this may well prove as a lead for other domestic leagues resumption.
